Ryan is the managing partner and trial attorney at Wiemer Law Group, LLC. He focuses his practice exclusively on Family Law cases. Ryan has numerous clients in family law cases, including paternity, divorce, child support, complicated financial cases, and post-judgment actions, throughout south, east and central Wisconsin.
Ryan has worked as a Guardian ad Litem in the Milwaukee and Waukesha Counties to represent the best interests of minor children. Ryan’s work as a Guardian ad Litem provides him with a unique perspective in handling family law cases. His expertise led him to be a two time presenter for Guardian ad Litem training sponsored by the Wisconsin State Bar allowing him to
share his knowledge with other family law practitioners.
Beyond his work at MacGillis Wiemer, LLC, Ryan served for 23 years in the U.S. Army Reserve. He achieved the rank of Major and retired as a Deputy Team Chief of the 214th Legal Operations Detachment. During his career, which included several active duty tours and mobilizations, he worked as a Special Victims’ Counsel advocating for the rights and interests of domestic violence and sexual assault victims through the military investigative and criminal processes.
During his free time, has volunteered with several organizations, including the Dry Hootch Volunteer Law Clinic, the Milwaukee Justice Center, Open Door Café, and Habitat for Humanities. At Dry Hootch, Ryan provided general legal advice to veterans and their families. His skill and passion for what he does allow him the opportunity to help navigate numerous service members and their families through complex issues surrounding military divorces, including military pension and child custody issues.
Ryan is a graduate of the Marquette University Law School and previously received his B.A. in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. While in law school, Ryan was a judicial intern with the Wisconsin Court of Appeals.
As a life-long resident of Wisconsin, he enjoys fishing, hunting, and skiing with his wife, Leah, daughters, Annabelle and Naomi, and son, Jack. Ryan and his family also enjoy traveling and he has visited several countries in Africa, South and Central America, and Asia. While in Africa, he taught English and Math to 4th-grade students in a rural village.
